At the core of our mission sits a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
We do this because it's the right thing to do for everyone concerned:
We're committed to delivering on diversity and inclusion for our Scholars because we know that careers with growth, impact and scale should be open to people regardless of their backgrounds.
Scholars: Identifying and diverting future leaders into tech
We're committed to delivering on diversity and inclusion for our Partners because we know that diverse teams are more innovative, make better decisions and perform better.
Partners: Membership access to a talent pipeline with progression and diversity
We're committed to delivering on diversity and inclusion for our Faculty because we know that the voices that are heard in tech need to represent the diversity across society.
Faculty: Combining industry and education expertise
Over half of our Scholars will be women.
Over half of our Scholars will be ethnic minorities.
We know that change doesn't happen without action. That's why we're taking concrete steps to improve diversity and inclusion in the industry:
We know that lots of people face barriers to entry for careers in tech.
That's why we're open-sourcing the technical curriculum for The Mark, our pre-employment programme: so that anyone with a laptop and internet connection can learn, train and improve.
We know that lots of organisations are already doing amazing work.
That's why our Faculty and Programme staff actively volunteer, mentor and work with them: Code First Girls, Coders of Colour, Code Your Future, Black Codher and Black Valley.
We know that diversity and inclusion is an ongoing effort.
That's why these goals are not a ceiling on our ambition. We think that we can do more, and - as we scale - we must do more.
